The Prime Minister gave further clarification about the new advice: Stay Alert, Control the Virus and Save Lives.
· Mr Johnson confirmed that Staying Alert for the majority of people means staying at home as much as possible but with a range of other actions being advised by the government as the measures are modified:
o working from home if you can;
o limiting contact with other people;
o keeping distance if you go out - 2 metres apart where possible;
o washing your hands regularly;
o wearing a face covering when you are in enclosed spaces where it’s difficult to be socially distant e.g. in some shops and on public transport;
o and if you or anyone in your household has symptoms, you all need to self-isolate.
