Dear Parish Council,
The Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) has opened a consultation on its suggestions for new ward boundaries for East Staffordshire Borough Council. This is set to be the final consultation before the LGBCE make their final decisions.
The consultation period will run until 7th September 2020 and they are inviting responses on the proposed boundaries, proposed names and proposed number of councillors per ward.
The LGBCE has set out proposals for 36 Councillors across 16 wards, and this involves changes to the boundaries of all the existing wards. I attach a poster advertising the consultation and a summary, provided by the LGBCE.
The full report, which sets out the LGBCE’s considerations in drawing up these proposals, is available on the LGBCE’s website under the (4) Draft Recommendations section.
There is also an interactive map and consultation area portal.
Responses can be submitted online via the LGBCE website, or via email or post (see below for further details).
Once finalised, the changes will come into effect at the next Borough Council elections.
